verde bonita

When designing the Verde Bonita pattern we were inspired by the bright greens that usher in the spring season. To complete our color palette, we combined that green of spring with the deep navy of a summer night sky and the rich turquoise of a crystal blue sea. We then took some of our favorite spring flowers, gave them a cinda b spin and arranged them into a unique geometric pattern. The result is a striking combination that is preppy in its colors and bohemian in its design. Verde Bonita is just that — a beautiful green.

Mod Tortoise Handbag Pattern | cinda b

mod tortoise

I have always been fascinated with tortoise shells and love how the tortoise pattern is a timeless design classic with a universal appeal. So we thought to ourselves, why not create a cinda b pattern that incorporated that same classic appeal and color palette but with a cinda b twist? We took the shapes within a tortoise shell, gave them our modern, geometric spin and partnered them with deep black, rich brown and a soft camel. The resulting pattern, Mod Tortoise, is classic yet modern and goes with everything.

jet set black

Jet Set Black was inspired by an amazing and intricate Japanese woodcut I came across while perusing one of my favorite design history books. Over the years, I have collected a library of both new and vintage art and design books that I often reference when it comes time to create new patterns. Even in fashion, history repeats itself. The trick is to take what is old and give it a new spin — which is exactly what we did to create Jet Set Black.

Scala Ivory Handbag Pattern | cinda b

scala ivory

On a recent trip to France, I fell in love with St. Tropez and tried to capture the essence of that magical place in Scala Ivory. Everywhere I looked, I saw inspiration for the colors. The soft pinks of the summer flowers, the warm whitewashed buildings, the chic locals with sun kissed skin clad in breezy ivory linen all lead me to a soft pallet of blush tones and ivory. The weathered drift woods and cobble stone streets inspired the perfect mushroom grey accent. As St. Tropez is a village by the sea, a fresh take on a "fishscale" pattern seemed natural. The result is a neutral pattern that is both feminine and sophisticated.

belize brown

Several years ago I had the pleasure of visiting the beautiful country of Belize. Everywhere I went, from the beaches to the jungle, one thing remained constant — the pure, fresh, vibrant colors. The blues of the water and the sky, the greens of the plants, the reds of the fiery sunrises and sunsets (and the occasional Toucan) and the rich brown of the earth — they were all magnificent. I took those colors and mixed them up in a rough stripe that mimics the rich, classic texture of grasscloth wallpaper (which happens to be one of my very favorite interior design tools). And with that, Belize Brown was born.

Handbag Shibori Blue Pattern | cinda b

shibori blue

With Shibori, we wanted to create a nautical pattern that wasn’t so literal. It needed to look at home as much on a boat as it did by the beach, by the pool or at the lake (or in the city, desert or countryside for that matter!). I was inspired by an ancient form of indigo-based, Japanese tie-dye called Shibori. The finished look is classic, clean and modern with just a hint of a
fresh ocean breeze.

bella fiore cocoa

Bella fiore. Who doesn’t love beautiful flowers? When we wanted to add a floral pattern to our collection, I knew it had to be a very special and unique flower to fit into our mix of modern patterns. I found a vintage wallpaper at a flea market that gave me just the right inspiration. I love how the strong brown solid of the Cocoa balances out the feminine charm of the floral to create a perfect balance. With the Raspberry solid, we kicked the floral up a notch and made a very feminine, yet strong pattern.

I wanted to design a pattern that would go with everything — black, brown, jeans, etc. For our Ravinia pattern, I was inspired by David Hick’s classic Chevron pattern, which I shook up a bit and colored with a bright palette. The result is a pattern that works with just about any outfit. With all the colors in the pattern, we wanted to pair it with a very neutral solid, so Ivory seemed like the perfect choice. While we adore our Ivory colorway, we were afraid others would be concerned about the light color (even though it is stain resistant and 100% machine washable!). So, we decided to offer this pattern with a Black solid as well. To my delight, both Ravinia Ivory and Ravinia Black do equally well and are consistently two of our top selling patterns. They are just the perfect versatile mix of formal and casual, classic and modern, and subdued with color.

casablanca purple

We were attending a high school friend’s wedding at The Cloister in Sea Island, when I was moved to create a new pattern inspired by our beautiful surroundings. The idea was born in coastal Georgia, but the end product is very Palm Beach modern with a cinda b “kaleidoscopic” twist! The sky blue solid color gives it even more of a fresh coastal feel. The pattern also has a very regal feel to it, so also pairing it with a purple solid seemed just right. This is my very favorite pattern for our cosmetic bags and small accessories.
Seraphina Sun Yellow Patterns | cinda b

seraphina sun yellow

I just can’t look at a Seraphina bag without smiling. This pattern is all about sunshine and happiness. I used a peacock feather as the springboard to create this unique ikat weaving pattern. But when I added the hot colors, it began to look like a flame. Seraphina was the Goddess of Fire, so it seemed like the perfect name for this yellow-hot pattern.

Empire Sand Colors & Patterns for Handbags | cinda b

When designing the Empire pattern, I wanted to create something sleek and sophisticated so that it would look right at home in Manhattan or other urban areas. A modified flame stitch pattern (which just so happens to look like the famous NY landmark itself!) in muted tones of black, grey, tan and brown did just that. For the Slate, we added a smoky grey solid. The combined effect makes Empire Slate my favorite pattern to take with me while travelling for business, especially when I'm visiting the Big Apple. For Empire Sand, by pairing a soft sand solid with black accents, we created one of our most versatile patterns-- something that works great with both black and brown outfits.

Purse Pattern Roundabout Black | cinda b

roundabout black

Roundabout was the very first pattern we introduced. I knew that to differentiate cinda b in a crowded marketplace, our patterns needed to be hip, modern and a little more geometric that the other quilted bag lines out there. The Roundabout pattern embodies just that. Roundabout Red is playful, strong and invigorating. This is a true “feel good” colorway. Roundabout Black takes the classic black bag and adds a soft girly touch of pink. It is the ultimate in timelessness. Roundabout Brown combines a chocolate brown with caramel and latte accented with a soft blue to create a casual neutral color palette that wears well with jeans or khakis.

Lattice patterns are timeless. With the Sweetleaf pattern, we took a classic lattice pattern and gave it a cinda b spin, complete with a few dots, a few leaves and an uber-preppy color scheme -- navy with green accents (and just a hint of pink) with the solid blue. It makes me want to turn my collar up and watch a polo match! :) For the Pink colorway, we added chocolate brown accents to ground the pink and give just a touch of toughness to this sweet, girly color scheme.
