From Cinda …
Wow! It’s exciting writing my very first blog post! And the very first thing I want to say is THANK YOU!
Thank you for supporting cinda b, but more importantly, thank you for being part of a team that is helping keep our country great. You play a much bigger role than I bet you probably imagined…
I started cinda b not just because I wanted a chic, functional bag that I was unable to find in the market place, but also because I wanted to create an American Made product line. That was important to me. If I was going to invest my time, my heart and my life savings into to a company, I wanted it to not only create great products, but also great jobs right here in the States.
But making bags here in the States was much more difficult than I would have ever imagined. For the first five years of cinda b, I ran into challenge after challenge related to manufacturing. It seemed that the universe was against my keeping manufacturing Stateside. It was quite disheartening.
Then, in 2008, everything changed. Just as our nation’s economy began to crumble, I got a fateful call that changed my life and the lives of many others. They say the Lord works in mysterious ways, and I have no doubt He was involved with what happened next…
cinda b Finds a U.S. Home
A sewing factory in Indiana, who had been sewing bags for one of the country’s largest handbag companies for over 15 years, unexpectedly lost that key account leaving them with incredibly talented employees…but with nothing to sew. I had lots to sew but desperately needed a new U.S. factory to do the sewing. A mutual business partner introduced us, and the rest, as they say, is history!
Today, cinda b is one of the fastest growing handbag lines in the country and we owe it all to you and others that support quality products made right here! I wish you could walk though our factory in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and meet all of the workers as they proudly sew our bags. Because you choose to buy a cinda b, the folks at this sewing facility still have their jobs.
It’s a pretty amazing feeling, don’t you think? We are all part of a very special team – I design the bags HERE, we make them HERE and you carry them HERE (and, you sometimes carry them THERE, too, which is pretty fabulous also – please send pictures ). It takes all of us working together to make this American Dream come true.
As we all celebrate our nation’s independence this weekend, please take pride in knowing that by doing something as fun and easy as carrying an American Made bag (or any other American Made product for that matter), you have directly changed the lives of many right here for the better. The American Dream lives on!
Thank you again!
I wish you and your families all a very safe and happy Fourth of July!
